Question #6 Second Corinthians 11:3-4

“But  I am afraid, lest as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your  minds should be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to  Christ.  For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you bear this beautifully.  Or – you may well put up with it.

The  problem wasn’t so much that these false teachers had come among the  Christians in Corinth. The problem was that the Corinthian Christians put up with them.

Lucy, the point I wanted to get across is what the Apostle Paul was also warning the Church in Corinth.
Be Careful: There is such a thing as another false Jesus.  There is such a thing as a different false spirit.  There is such a thing as a different false gospel.

Note: if you have a different Jesus, then what follows is a different spirit which accompanies a different gospel.

Just because someone says they believe in Jesus, we need to ask “Which One?”

The Jesus of the Jehovah’s Witnesses is Michael the Archangel, this is not the Jesus of the Bible.

The Jesus of the New Age Movement is one of many Ascended Masters, one of many aeons or guides to the whole eternal spirit.  This is not the Jesus of the Bible.

The Jesus of the Mormon Church is the first created spirit child of Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother who is the spirit brother of Lucifer and our older brother.  This is not the Jesus of the Bible.

There are many false Christs and Jesus warned us many times to be discerning and not to be deceived.

Lucy, I’m sure your family is very devoted, very loving, very “Christ like” but sadly they have a false Jesus.  If you have a false Jesus then you have a false spirit and a false gospel.  The Mormon gospel is (1) Faith, (2) Repentance, (3) Baptism, (4) Laying on of hands to receive the Holy Spirit, and (5) Continued Righteousness.  This is not the Gospel in 1 Corinthians 15:1-3

Lucy, I believe you have been “born again” by the spirit of God when you reached out to the Lord and asked Him to save you.
This is foreign to Mormonism.  The LDS I have spoken to say that being born again is when they were baptized.
Tell  this to the thief on the cross or to Cornelius the centurion who was  baptized in the Holy Spirit BEFORE he was water baptized.
Lucy,  all this to say, you are now in a different world than your family.  You  are just an alien passing through this life awaiting your eventual  eternity in heaven.

This is a difficult transition for everyone  because Jesus even said that His gospel, and those who follow Him, will  divide families.
Very few members of my family are followers of  Jesus and love Him.  This is painful but it is also evidence that the  words of Jesus are true.

First and foremost, you need to get  stronger in your faith.  Eventually you will be in a dialogue with your  family and you will have to make your stand.  Pray for them that they  will be interested in your message of hope and salvation through grace  alone, without works.  Let them know that you have assurance  of where you are going when you die and they can enjoy the same peace  and comfort that you enjoy as a child of God by spiritual adoption.   Salvation is NOT by keeping the laws and ordinances of the Mormon  gospel.  We have covered this already – Jesus did it all on the cross.

Lucy,  I know this is a lot for you to absorb and digest.  This is why I asked  if you wanted me to back off for you to take tiny bits and dwell on  God’s Word.  You have a good friend and mentor in Carol.  Stay close to  her and her friends and you will grow in grace.

I hope this helps.  God Bless You.  Don
