Most  Latter-day Saints believe we’re all literal children of Heavenly  Parents. Yet despite this claim, I argue that LDS theology doesn't  substantially teach we're offspring of Heavenly Father. In fact, I'd  contend that Christian theology more fundamentally teaches we're all  "children" of God than Mormon theology.

What  we believe about our relationship to God matters. In Christianity,  every part of us comes from God. He is the Creator of every part of us.  The LDS Church, however, teaches that a part of us is essentially  eternal and self-existent.

In  this video, we examine the LDS claim that we're all children of God.  According to the Bible, though we're all created by Him we do not all  relate to God as our Father. We need to be adopted into His family—and  that's part of why Jesus came and sacrificed Himself.

John 1:12 - "But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God"
