In 1966, the Watchtower Society published a book that all but guaranteed the world would end in 1975. They called it Life Everlasting — In Freedom of the Sons of God. What followed was one of the most damaging false prophecies in modern religious history.

Jehovah's Witnesses sold their homes. Emptied their bank accounts. Skipped college. Refused blood transfusions. Abandoned careers. All on the word of an organization that would later claim it never said what it very clearly said.

When 1975 came and went without Armageddon, the Governing Body didn't apologize. They blamed the members.  This is what happens when an organization holds all the power and none of the responsibility. This is the 1975 prophecy — in the words of the people who lived through it.

The Governing Body was wrong. They knew it. And they made sure you paid for it.
