Joseph never completely departed from magic; we just have no evidence of that kind of repentance. I want my LDS friends to be warned—false spirits intend to pull people away from the truth, to deceive them. That’s why Satan is called the Father of Lies. They pull people away from what God has revealed about Himself, ourselves, and the Gospel. These things are not meant to be trifled with, or taken lightly.
