There's been a lot of changes in the recognition of the roles of women in the LDS Church, no doubt to the rising influence of the feminist movement in our current day and age. That recognition is a reaction to the culture; just like slavery, admission of black-skinned people to the priesthood, or the LGBTQ community's growing influence in our current culture and subsequent "revelations" in the LDS church.

But being wealthy isn't a sin, being financially prudent and making wise financial decisions is commended in the bible. Think of the parable of the tenants, the servant who didn't do anything with his investment was chastised for not at least making interest on what he was given.

There's quite a bit to unpack here and could probably spend a lot of time on each one of these issues. But don't you think there is a theme of oppression and lies. I'm really not sure it gets more corrupt than this,

Moses gave some very important instructions for civil matters among the Israelites. Especially when investigating the truth, the account by a single person was considered insufficient to accuse anyone of wrongdoing.
